If you have seen many of those movies you may have noticed that there are only white people in the movie. Why, there are plenty of good sci-fi flicks that have black people. Why do many sci-fi films, many of which are critically acclaimed have only white people. It is understandable for films in the 50's, but what about films in the 70's? Is it really just racism or is it something more? Please post any other sci-fi films where you notice that there is only one race.

Yeah I am sure it was before black people started getting all bend out of shape because a movie/tv show didn't have a black member of the cast.

Look at the years the film came out

The era of cheap sci-fi movies were the 50's.

Also, there may not have been to many black actors. They were probably to busy fighting for their rights.

Either you stick a black guy in so you're not racist, or you don't stick a black guy in because you don't want to seem like you're obsessed with political correctness. Decisions decisions.

Also,

James Earl Jones was in the original Star Wars trilogy, but it couldn't have been to just not look racist, because you couldn't even see that Darth Vader's voice actor was black.

What about Ghosts of Mars, Blackenstein, Sphere, and other movies. Not to mention more than half your movies listed are from the 50's. An era when a black guy would probably be shining your shoes rather than do anything heroic.

well if you dont put black people into movie, you are a racist. if you do, you must make him be a hero/not be kill'd.

Black people in the 50s were going to marches for equal rights and black people in the 70s were buggering around in hippyville with their black panther pals
