I doubt you'll know it, it's called "Dark Lineage" or something. It's about a girl and her brother who get transported to another world and she must save her brother.
You arrive at this place with three or so(what seem to be like) walking weasels, and there are werewolves following you and shooting missiles at you. You run, some of them die, etc.
Then you get to the village of the walking weasels(called Natives, I think), and you learn that the werewolve things(Wolfuns) are actually Natives transformed. SHOCKING.Afterwards they teach you how to kick ass of the wolfuns so that you can turn them back into natives when they're knocked out.
And yeah, then you go on quests. This game is hard as hell, if I recall well.
