The first edition was last year and had over 50 entries from over 20 countries.

This short film festival is a unique opportunity for either professional or amateur filmmakers to develop and present their work to the public. Cine-minutes, built on imagination and creativity, from all over the world will meet in Thermaikos in a colourful cinema feast.

Feel free to choose any theme and the technique you like for your film, but also bear in mind that there is a duration limitation of maximum 2 minutes.

CATEGORIES OF KINOFEST 2009

ANIMATION (3D SPACE, FX MIX_2D_3D, FLASH, MACHINIMA, OTHER TEHNICS)
For the Animation category, we accept films entirely computer generated, 3D animations digitally composed hybrids which mix different techniques, e.g. live action, 2D animation and 3D animation, works made with Macromedia Flash, in 2007 or later. We accept all genres, whether artistic or commercial productions.

MICROMOVIE (90 SECONDS MAXIMUM)
For the Micromovie category, we accept films that work well on the small screens of mobile devices, produced 2007 or later. We accept all genres, whether artistic or commercial productions. The time limit is 90 seconds, the screen size is 720×576.

FICTION (20 MINUTES MAXIMUM)
For the Fiction category, we accept films of every genre: fiction, animation, experimental, art film etc., produced 2007 or later. The only condition for the participation is the duration of the total footage to be under 20 minutes.

hey thanks buddy I thought I'd already missed all the festival deadlines. I'll show these dates to the people I made Smokey with we've been meaning to enter that in something for ages.

I'll try to make a submission but then get sidetracked and never finish it.

I don't think The Frog Eats the Fly applies to any of these

I just got an email from the KINOFEST staff confirming they received my submissions. The deadline is September the 30th after which the preselections will take place. After the preselections are over with, I will know if my submission(s) made it into the actual festival.
