And by good I mean that it has a good processor, graphics card and decent price.

For running some new stuff at college, I will use heavy programs as Maya (OMFG) and I want to take advantage for it to play Left 4 Dead etc.

Say I want one with the following requisites reccomended by my professor:
  • Minimum 4GB RAM
  • Intel Core 2 Duo
  • Good graphics (nVidia, perhaps?)
  • 600-999 dollars budget
I am having trouble looking up at Best Buy (to begin), I found this one, but I got my doubts about the graphic accelerator. I have been adviced that Intel is shit for that.

I need to have some expert advice as it will be my firs very own laptop, and I don't want crap without mentioning I don't want to torture my wallet with Gaming PCs.

Some soon answers would be a blessing

This will handle most games, its got a decent graphics card with a Core 2 Duo and 4 gigs of RAM.

My friend got this laptop, it was able to handle anything from Valve on high quality, GRID on medium/high, Company of Heroes and Dawn of War II at pretty high quality, It could even handle games like Far Cry 2 and Crysis, though not at great quality, Battlefield heroes on high, and Street Fighter 4 on high.
EDIT: Also Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty World at War at high.
Also it has a massive screen for a laptop, 18.4 inches is as big as they come. It has a pretty good resolution too, 1680x945.

It's going to be hard to find one better for the price.

This one is like $1000 and has a video card that is a little better, a significantly more powerful processor and the same RAM. However, the screen's size and resolution is significantly lower. The screen is 3 inches smaller with a lower resolution, 1366 x 768.

I would take the top one, not only is it cheaper, but if you use high performance power mode you'll get decent performance out of it and you'll be able to handle even the most intense of games (for more graphically intense games such as GRID or Crysis, you'd need to turn the resolution down from your max, but regardless you could handle them.)

Oh man, the first one you showed me looks fantastic. Everything looks good except maybe the size of it (I dont think it will be that portable)

I found this one very good imho, but I want some advice

That video card isn't as good compared to the one in the laptop I showed you. If you're worried about it being portable, just get a bag designed for an 18.4" laptop.

That one, it even has a shoulder strap.

EDIT: Actually yeah that video card in the laptop you picked out is significantly worse.

Forgot to  add this:

This cooler, while designed for 17" laptops, will still work for the 18.4", and it would be unwise to game on a laptop without a cooler.

This mouse is really great too.

If you get that laptop and these three things it should be right around your thousand dollar budget.

Maybe you can scratch the mouse. The cooler could be a good deal... I am just wondering if it's worth to have this huge fucking thing everywhere and with my books. That said, with the paranoia of it breaking out by any stupid move I do.

Highlighted though, this could be my purchase.

You'd have to drop it completely to do any sort of damage to it, and since it would be around your shoulder, that would be pretty hard. The bag is pretty good at protecting it.

Also, trying to play games on it without a mouse would really suck, and that's pretty cheap for how great that mouse is.

I'm just speaking from experience, but for what you pay for the computer and these three accessories, you'd be making a great purchase. That computer can play any game, handle any application, and has a great  display and pretty good battery life. The cooler keeps the laptop significantly cooler, the bag fits everything perfectly and is good at protecting it, and the mouse doesn't cost much and has great quality. It's exactly the setup I recommended to one of my best friends and he loves it. :)
