Shading can be very time consuming work. Now instead of wasting timem on that, what you want to do is use gradients. The greater the difference between the two colors you use, the better. If you're going to use more than two though, use wildly different colors. Here's an example.




Also, comic sans. It's the only font you'll ever need.

It was meant as just a child's font or comic book font. But people seem to want to use it for every damn purpose you can think of. Every crappy geocities website in the late 90s and early 00s used it everywhere. You'd see it on wedding invitations, power point presentations, greeting cards, everything. It was so damn overused graphic designers of every sort despise it now. And in addition to that, there are far better fonts for comics and children's material now anyways.

I used to use comic sans, but I have since changed. I now hate the font, and I see it everywhere! Why would you use that font for your billboards?

I think it's an ugly, amatuerish looking font that belongs in web comics if anywhere.
