Hi agian. So my other walkcycle was basically a trace. After a nights work and a days reading the animators survival kit here's what I had:

After 30 mins more work here's what I had:

I'm planning to do add more frames and have it so there's 16 frames in one step tomorrow.
EDIT: Done that now, here it is:

I also tryed to ease it a bit.
Any advice, comments, criticism would be appreciated.

The arms seem to not have any real inertia (sort of like when you set the ease on a motion tween to 100), but other than that it looks well!

DigitalLemonClock

good progress

some observations:
- the framerate is too high for the movement, in a few instances his arms ands legs seem to shift positions too abrubtly
- there is no real sense of mass or weight, as mentioned above this is achieved by 'easing' in or out
- although you're studying the movement through copying I would advice against drawing in the author's style too much.
It's important you use his walk cycles as examples, not blueprints, so be sure to analyze movement on your own without relying too much on his examples.

animator's survival kit is such a good book  :lo5:

I know, it's amazing. The only reason I drew it in the same style is because I didn't want to use stick figures and it seemed the easiest option  (pipe figures would have taken me ages)

This is the walkcycle with more "inbetweens"

I also tryed to add easing to it.

Hands are too stiff. That's what's holding up your arms' momenta. If you're the type who walks with your arms aswingin', watch how your hands move separately from your arms with your walk. If not, find a video clip of someone walking who does. Also, the hands should be at their side. No one walks with their palms facing where they're going.
