is there an explanation for the nominations somewhere?

I'm not seeing everest, devil's tower, victoria falls, giant's causeway, or paricutin. if they're doing obvious shit like the grand canyon and kilimanjaro you'd think everest would at least be up there.

and everything listed seems to be land formations, where the fuck is aurora borealis?

aurora borealis is an occurrence so by that logic meteor showers, eclipses, tornadoes and rainbows could be allegeable aswell.

I agree with SlurpeeClock, how cool would it not to have a wonder that has no real position of location? But whenever you see it you'll treasure it even more.

I for one don't enjoy this project of theirs, it's just a boring capitalist fest bent on making money; Not treasuring pinnacles of human civilization.
They didn't include the granite temple complex in east asia because no one ever goes there but the building project itself dwarfed that of other wonders. (Not talking about Angkor Wat)
