Hey clockcrew, long time!

I've done almost no flash or drawing for the last few months, but I did buy a new camera and took a few photographs, thought I'd throw them up here, any advice/criticism would be appreciated. And sorry in advance if this should be in the creative arts forum.

Also, a little thing I just did in photoshop

Hmm, not bad. Not bad at all! However in some of them they look a little blurry/out-of-focus when viewed full size. Do you use a tripod to take pictures? If not I suggest you use one as it can greatly increase the sharpness of your images.

Also nice HDR attempt, I can't seem to grasp it.

Thanks! And I used a tripod for the pictures that weren't in the forrest, but I think that's more to do with the editing of the photos as they still have a bit of blur on them. Or maybe they just weren't focused perfectly.

Thanks again, I just rested my camera on a rock for that, took picture one stop below, one normal, and one stop above then photoshop did the rest.

Yeah I use Photoshop as well but I can never get it right :/

Thanks, and a mixture, though for these I think it was auto focus, thinking back the shutter speed for the ones in the forest was around 1/15 so that could have been it too.

Yeah, you need to work on focusing a bit more instead of worrying about getting everything into the composition. If you don't have a proper focus, then none of that matters. Anyhow, these look better than most pictures I see. Keep up the good work.

Also what kind of camera do you have? A DSLR or a regular point-and-shoot (that's what it looks like to me)? It would help me help you a lot more

It's a bridge camera, not as expensive as most DSLRs but gives you full manual control.

Cloakroom Used manual focus for this one, didn't get tripod out though, and the lighting was pretty dark so the shutter speed was low so it was a bit blurred.

I've also got some HDR's to put up, but frogbag wont let me at the moment.

Where did you take these rooftop photos? It looks like a nice location.

Here's the HDR tests I took, I'd say they get progressively better. I really hate the first 3.

The second one looks realy flat

you have 1 good picture. the garden one (in the first post). all of the others need to be completely re-thought. it looks like you're not too in-touch with the balance of photos. the way you shoot them just makes them look too busy and aesthetically unpleasing. put more effort in your photos. also quit with the hdr, it makes you look like a try-hard.

I agree that my photos do look busy. I am putting effort in but I am also learning, which is why I made this thread, and the HDR's were tests, I'm just trying to broaden my horizion.

usually i shoot in film, but i think i have a couple decent ones on my digital. give me a sec
