Quote from: ButtplugClock;1813808Whenever they propose to store the waste somewhere people (understandably) flip out if is near them.

A modern Thorium reactor would produce virtually no waste, as well as being EVEN CHEAPER and MORE PRODUCTIVE than any current uranium reactor. People are just scared for no good reason at all of nuclear power plants and it really pisses me off.
Quote from: MafiaMettaurWhat the hell is with that shit you posted? You know what, I'm joining the Locks, just to stop stuff like you!
Quote from: polyhedronclockYou're a fucking clock, what else do you have?
To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

You just want a Thorium reactor because it has your name in it.

Quote from: CadillacClock;1813817I can't tell if this is a joke post or not.

i actually am pretty annoyed that the best source of energy source available to humanity is being held back largely due to the ignorance of the populace.

I don't know of any mass protests over using nuclear energy

I think it might be the ones with the money that are the problem.

I'm just speculating though

Protests have died down recently because people aren't even TRYING to make new reactors

Slurpee

I don't watch simpsons in syndication
between dvds and internet streams I don't really see the point
especially with the ratio of good to shitty episodes holding at like 1:8

Poltergeist

Just Poltergeist stopping by after like six months to say who gives a fuck about the Simpsons.

No, tell me. Tell me who cares about the Simpsons. Fucking nobody. This doesn't really strike me as "censorship gone mad" or "political correctness to the extreme" as much as general good nature. It's not a huge deal, it's not an attack on free speech; it's just politeness. If you want to see the episode now because of this, if you actually go out of your way to view the episode specifically because you're not going to see it on air for a couple of months, you're a dick.

Hey man have you seen the trailer for Into Eternity? I'm not making an argument I just think that movie looks pretty cool.

it's fallen out of vogue, but the simpsons is embedded in the american zeitgeist of the late 20th century. scholarly works have been written on it. references are still occasionally invoked as analogous to real-life situations, even by non-retards.
it's popular culture in the purest sense.

of course people are going to react poorly to it being censored. we're defensive of our shared culture, and the simpsons is quintessentially that. this fucking show is the closest thing our generation ever had to the beatles.

even if we all stopped watching somewhere in the 10th season.

BluezombieClock

Simpsons has always been great because it's funny for everybody, and it's easy to get attached to their careless little town.

I honestly have never found the Simpsons to be funny.

Deodorant

Maybe The Simpsons producers carefully planned this out by strategically predicting a reactor problem and are using the controversy to get people to tune into the next episode.

Or not.
