Funny, two years ago the forums were bustling with activity. There was always something going on, and it was usually hilarious. It's probably safe to say that the Clock Crew kept me alive during my high school days. I'd even go so far as to say that the Clock Crew raised me. Now look at it. All we have now is elitism and petty drama, with maybe five members that even bother with art(though I may be forgetting a few; the only ones that spring to mind are Ribs, Satellite, Vuvuzela, and Poptart). This decline may well have been constant, and the complaints may well have been constant, but that doesn't mean changing things isn't worth a try. And who's calling who cynical here? The very fact that I'm trying to reverse the decline of a culture that has been in a state of decay from the start suggests to me that I'm the hopeless idealist in this situation.

No you're just repeating the same unfortunate cycle that others before you have. Most of them got sick of the CC and left before the so called glory days of 2 years ago that you're referring too. Most of them were senior clocks from the days of .cc


The fact of the matter is the CC is always changing and always evolving. People leave, new people join, dynamics change as the staff switches hands. If you're not willing to accept change and adapt than you're probably not going to enjoy your time here. As it is with life it is here. It's fun to look back upon the past but it's ultimately pointless as you're spending all your time trying to relive the days of old instead of making the present into something new and exciting. Complaining and longing for those days you miss so much gets us nowhere.

As a few have stated before this post, make something and contribute instead of posting on the forum. That is how you make a difference.

Just got back from work. I was being pretty stupid earlier on. Having an episode, I suppose.

Now that I've had time to think about it, I maintain that the Clock Crew isn't what it used to be, but that it isn't for a lack of art or effort. It's because a lot of the people that used to make it fun are gone now. There's a vacuum where they used to be. Of course, there are still some good members around. Besides, you're right. If I want fun shit to happen, I should make it happen.

This is what I mean when I say I'm insane. I'm serious about that. Not making it up. I sometimes make huge leaps like that without any real reasoning, even though it runs completely counter to my usual personality and my rather empirical philosophy. It was a mental breakdown of sorts. I apologize for it.
