Wondering what project will happen because of this, believe it or not 1$ million wont get you that far when making games nowdays...

One of the main points of a publisher is that they hold the producer accountable if they fuck up. If Tim just decided to bail with the money, or do like the Duke Nukem Forever producers and just play World of Warcraft all day nobody would be able to do anything.

Then again, the idea of a genius like Schafer producing a game without having to worry about dumbass publishers that only care about their bottom line is exciting. This is the kind of situation where they're going to produce a game they'll love, and when programmers put their heart and souls into their work you get a masterpiece. I can't wait to see the results of this.

This game is pretty much guaranteed to be fucking awesome.

Guess this is happening before Psychonauts 2. Oh well I'm fine with either game coming out first, I'll get both of them when they each eventually come out.

At this point it's going to be the greatest adventure game ever made, out on every possible platform including damn small linux and atari jaguar, and be in over twenty languages. If it keeps growing at this rate, they should fund an animated series for Grim Fandango.
