I am posting in this thread to say that I listened to your songs, and I don't know anything about composing music for the Game Boy but there are some pretty good sounds here I guess.

How did you manage to get that Kurtis Blow "Hit it!" in the middle of SSAotIC into the Game Boy to begin with?
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

Basically you get this cartridge with the rom LSDJ on it and it allows you to program/manipulate the different sound channels present on the gameboy's hardware. I kind of suck at explaining it, but it's basically a sequencer for the gameboy. And as for the "Hit it" sample, it comes with the rom. There's a bunch of other voice samples in there as well. Plus you can patch the rom with samples you have made yourself (provided you've done it correctly).

Really nice stuff here, ZMC. I have a few gameboys stored away and an emulation cartridge with LSDJ loaded onto it, but I don't have the skill or the patience to write good music like you have. You've done a great job with these. I think I like your first attempt the most (Untitled LSDJ song [...]).

I don't know much about production so all I can say is that I envy your talent. Keep up the great work. Good music will often influence how we perceive everything else.

Thanks :D! You should give it a try man, I feel like you would like it. If not I would totally buy that cartridge off of you IF YOU WANTED.

Quote from: FloppydiskClock;1911271Pretty good progress for a few weeks with lsdj I must say, usually takes a while before people get hang of it!

I should have listened to you 2 years ago when you told me to pick up a cartridge then.

Unfortunately, it's a cartridge meant for the DS. I still use it to play Earthbound and other old school games but LSDJ was what it was meant for. I'll get into some day. One of these daysssssss

I do have a yellow gb pocket and an old grey brick gb (missing battery cover, missing screen guard), though.

Ah I see. Well you should do it do it do it do it do it! It's so much fun once you learn the damned thing.

Well if you ever (probably not) wanted to part with THEM I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands :D.

Awesome great job, never really got the hang of LSDJ though I prefer Famitracker but I should give it a try.
