The third and fourth Pass the Flash collabs are coming to a close for Clock Day, and those collabs really show potential for awesome stories. I thought after Clock Day is over, that we might make another one which, like the 3rd edition, wouldn't be made in chronological order.

Here is my suggestion: In-Between The Flash. What we do is, two people make the first part and the last part at the same time, then someone makes the part that goes exactly in the middle of those two parts, then two prople make the parts that go in the center of the two gaps, and so on until the gaps are all filled. Example:

First round:
1 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 17

Second round:
1 - - - - - - - 9 - - - - - - - 17
(this one can be made at the same time as the first round if we need to save time)

Third round:
1 - - - 5 - - - 9 - - - 13 - - - 17

Fourth round:
1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 11 - 13 - 15 - 17

Final round:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17

I think this would have some good advantages, like being faster to complete since it allows many people to work on their parts at the same time. Also, those who don't really like to follow a complex plot and just like to animate whatever they feel like can simply sign up for the early rounds, since they don't -have- to be related. Connecting them will become the problem of those who signed up for later rounds.

Problems might arise if we need to add more people, since we can't easily change the structure of the set-up. Also it's not all that easy to explain, so I really hope my crude demonstration was clear and understandable. If you think this might be a fun way to do a Pass the Flash, or have suggestions to improve it, or just want to say it sucks and I need to fuck off, just post your thoughts.

Looks like this will be done, after all. Let's lay out the rules here as a reminder to everyone, even if you all took part in collabs like that before.
1. Thy part shall be entirely contained within one Movie Clip symbol
2. The first frame of thy part shall contain the ActionScript command _root.stop()
3. The last frame of thy part shall contain the ActionScript command _root.play()
4. Thou shall clearly identify thy symbols with thine name (KINGSTRAWBERRYCLOCK_trickytheclownsswingingpenis) and store them in a clearly identifyed folder as well.
5. Thy sounds shall all be set to Stream. 'tis a -very- important point, and dire consequences shall befall all offenders.
6. Should thou desire to leave, thou shall announce thy departure in advance so that we shall not end struggling to find a replacement.
7. Thou shall avoid resorting to make a "This was all a movie/video game/dream" part. Even if thou doth not like the plot, killing it in such a cheap and petty way is disrespectful of thy colleagues's efforts.

I'm on the fence about this? It feels like things would move quicker, but the later you are in the collab, the more parts you're beholden to, so we might not get as many people mixing it up. Conversely, we run the risk of people mixing things up and then the changes being resolved suddenly and never being mentioned again.

How could it be a Clock Crew collab if it doesn't end up being an awesome clusterfuck of epicness? In fact, one of my suggestions would be that whoever do the first and last parts do not communicate details of their parts to one another. It'll be more fun to slowly determine how the story got from point A to point B when both those parts are completely different ideas.

If we do this, I think I'll take a few final round parts to see if I'm any good to connect random shit together. Oh, and let's avoid making parts that's just a blank screen with the word "MEANWHILE" on it. The Clock Crew's supposed to be cheap, I'm aware, but let's not kill the purpose of the experience.
