Alright guys, since the staff and I are up shit creek as far as figuring out ideas for the clock day prize pool I figure I'd give you the guys the chance to put your two cents in.

So the basic question here is would you guys prefer a sort of winner take all system where 3-5 people get a pretty decent prize, or would you prefer an almost everybody wins system where we unload a fuckload of t shirts, stickers, and that sort of thing on a bunch of people we think did a kick ass job.

Also feel free to put your suggestions here. Keep in mind our budget for this year gives us about $500 worth to play with. We've got a little more than that in the treasury but a rainy day fund is still important.

Marlin Clock

I think maximum participation is key. It'd be a better idea to give out a lot of low value prizes than a few high prizes since I imagine there are plenty of people who don't think themselves in the top 5 animators of the Clock Crew.

EnglishClock

Quality over quantity.

Besides, I already have a clock day shirt wahhh

Everything Marlin said. ...and not just because I wouldn't win anything otherwise. Also I have a shitload of stamps if those'd help mass-awarding

Ignore your animation's quality, throw your participation to sub-T-shirt level. Stickers are cool.

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

It's nice to throw a tablet at the winner but as Marlin said this will be better for overall participation. We all know some talented inactive clock is gonna come back for the day and submit something amazing and steal first place anyways.

"Wow I sure hope my movie I spent three months on gets a prize I really worked hard on it. Oh Strange managed to make a masterpiece just the day before? Excuse me while I go sodomize myself with a chainsaw."

Lol
We\'ll be back shortly.

Low value, Clock Crew-branded prizes are important, and I think at least some of them should go automatically to non-Clock NG users. For these, subtle Clock-themed designs or a simple Clock Crew logo would be better than something that says "Clockday 2013!!!" or the like.

If we do high-value prizes, preference should go to Clock Crew members. I don't like the idea of giving high-value prizes to anyone who wouldn't give us a second look after winning them. If the prize is something like a tablet, I'd hope that First Place Shoo-ins who already have a tablet would accept the honors, but pass the prize to somebody who could use it.
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

hey I drew most of a preloader and then gave up on it because I didn't feel like coding it, if you want that (it's completely unsuitable for a t-shirt)

how many preloaders did you make, huh? i made at least 0.25 of one

Just find someone to code it then. We always have some guy draw it and another guy code it. Roman would gladly do it and you might even be able to convince Clam.

Props to the shirt designers

AstronautClock

I'd rather have the top 5 to get a prize

I agree with Astronaut here.

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

Quote from: PhantomCatClock;1955001I could probably do it

With pcat here, roman, trop, and clam around, coding your preloader should not be an issue.
