the homestuck fandom is going to rapidly die over the course of the next few months

then one day, probably april 13, the update will come

and I will be among that group of people to find out the update happened just a little too late and I will have to sit there for hours clicking refresh hoping I can someday actually read it instead of getting hit with a 503 error that will probably last for days

i dont care what new servers hussie gets, his website will not handle an update like this

Am I the only one who approves of this? Releasing in chunks is a much better way to digest a story than the regular webcomic one page at a time method. I read it in chunks anyways, so this is perfect for me.

I agree, but

the old format worked really well during act ~3/4, because Hussie's insane update schedule would reward you for doing stupid shit like checking for updates at 4 in the morning, and at the time the story was still simple enough and the content still good enough that the story was generally fresh in your memory

the story is really complex now and since, like, act 5, there've been times where I read an entire update without realizing I have no idea what the context is

like, I have no idea how everybody ended up wherever they all are right now
in, like, the same vicinity
there's big gaps in my understanding of these events
that I'm going to have to go back and read
maybe

I stopped reading 8 bit theater around when they were burning down cities to spell out a threatening message I think. I know they had beat the water temple by the time I lost track of it. Did it ever end?

I think so, but I stopped reading before you did. Brian clevinger went on to make a Real comic called Atomic Robo, which I haven't read but I heard resembles Hellboy.
