the company that makes the overpriced pencils that I like has those, except they click in flush with the rest of the pencil. I haven't bought one but I may the next time I stock up

speaking of, I got one of those fancy japanese mechanical pencils that rotates the lead a tiny bit every time you lift it off the page, so it makes a perfect point instead of flatspots. I'm always aware of the flatspot even though I'm not an artist and when it gets really pointy, I like to write unreasonably small things. Like, 5 lines per college ruled line

it uh

sucks.

but I've heard so many people say they love it. Maybe mine's broken? It was like $20 and it's built like a tank. If it is, I'd imagine I have the only broken one ever made. It also, and I'm not making this up, has AND I QUOTE "diamond-infused lead"

?

I didn't buy it because of that but it's ALL over the packaging. I truly could not give less of a shit. If you want it to break less, they already invented 0.7 size

anyway i'm not going to NOT use the special genie-enchanted lead it comes with and it also sucks.

ARTISTS are the ones who I keep hearing say nice things about this pencil. The lead.. flakes? That isn't the right (fuck me i almost typed 'write') word. You know when you erase something, and sometimes the eraser dust makes a really long... one. It does that, but of lead. Black instead of pink. That's like.. gross and weird when I'm writing. If i was a artist trying to use this thing, I'd either throw it out the window or shove it up my ass and throw that out the window instead.

anyway the grip knurling is really nice, reminds me of the expensive pentel ones that were throwbacks to the 70's or whatever. 10/10 pencil highly recommentFUCK WAIT WAIT WHOA I ACTUALLY CONFUSED THIS WITH THE PENTEL PENCIL THAT IT REMINDED ME OF AND I WENT BACK TO AFTER USING THIS ROTATING-LEAD PENCIL. OH HELL NO THIS IS A CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE OF CRAP THAT JUST LOOKS LIKE IT'S METAL NO WONDER IT'S BROKEN hey i've been awake for two days and that was fun when i was half my current age but it's bedtime, i can't even remember my write grip gripes right so sleep tight

PhantomCatClock

oh anyway it sucks because mine doesn't even fucking rotate. It'll have times where, when I'm watching it, I can see the little logo spin around and it gets a nice little combo going, then inevitably stops and flatspots anyway with its worse, messy lead. no instructions or tips on/in the packaging that i missed the first time. the end.

so I was looking at records today and it was my first time seeing Stanley Turrentine's 1970 album Sugar

the cover of this album is a closeup of a guy about to lick a woman's toes. major label jazz album btw

sitting here thinking 'they could never get away with that album art today,' not because it's obscene, but because everyone involved would be accused of being a foot guy

<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

very funny in an academic sort of way that this combination of text and image would have such a strong alternate reading for a small, small subset of the population, when practically no meaning was intended and the designer was probably obliged to put the word 'obey' on the shirt somewhere

I completely forgot Obey was a clothing brand for a minute. this isn't even their only strawberry

Ohhhh, I forgot, too. This looks so... crude and unofficial. But I guess that is kind of their thing, right?

I'm rotating your lead in my mind. Your little flaked lead worms are orbiting like a galaxy

I got transferred to a universe where something called "labubus" exist. it's exactly the same as the last universe, with everybody getting dumber and angrier and making things worse because they're mad about the things they're dumb about, but in this universe there's also these things called labubus

p!nk is the musical equivalent of a horse girl story. feminine, nurturing, defiantly free-spirited for reasons that aren't entirely clear
"I don't need anybody else to understand" p!nk soliloquies, "I'm going to enjoy my parties and love myself. life brings hardships but I will carry on with integrity and face death bravely, even if it hurts. I'm special and so is my horse."
it's a profoundly moving image for a certain subset of the population that tend to be quiet or troubled but have big emotions and long to be unchained and like horses. the general population isn't particularly impressed by it, but also isn't really upset about it either. "who told p!nk she wasn't allowed to party?" you might wonder. horse girls can like horse girl stuff, it's fine. some people have war in their countries
it doesn't matter to p!nk. you don't understand her, but her heart cannot be tamed, and she is friends with a horse with misunderstood potential.

but that's okay, because p!nk has a massive screaming flailing machine.
