It's a real pain in the ass when server hard drives crash.  They're in RAID's so even if 2 drives crash they're supposed to be able to recover the data, but even with my web host THREE hard drives went bad at once one time, thus making any data security in the form of data redundancy useless.  They were able to recover about half of the data I lost, but none of what I really cared about (I had backups of what they gave me, and didn't for the other stuff).

Pain in the butt.  And never any warning, either.  Three years of great service, and then BAM! everything's gone.

Never put all your trust in a webhost, I guess is the lesson :/

One big difference though, we have a one week waiting period for new accounts, they don't.

RE: Rupee - Nah, I don't think we should go that far.  They can either wait a week to post like everyone else or post on a 3rd party forum.  Plus we have no way to distinguish between locks and other new registrants anyway.

I had a personal harddrive failure, luckily, it was an empty one. I hadn't saved anything on it yet, but now I REALLY need another one because I only have a few hundred MB left.
