Quote from: Leorio;832773what's the meaning of life... hey you had it coming
Plastics.
For an abundance of plastics, you need manufacturers. Hence, life.

Speaking of ++ awards, whatever happened to Shasta++
Actually, why was there a Shasta++?

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, I think I'm better than you.
Do you accept?

Also, do you think I'm brainwashed into my beliefs? I don't think I am.

There were a lot of completely meaningless awards, like Shasta++, on 2.0. Shasta++ just wasn't renewed when the award system was reinstated some 3-ish years later: that's the current system, which is much more pragmatic than the abundance of useless awards 2.0 had.

Caught in a landsliiiiide, no escape from reality. My name's Johnny, and it might be a sin, but I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret, 'cause I'm the best there's ever been.

Quote from: Marlin Clock;832779Also, do you think I'm brainwashed into my beliefs? I don't think I am.
I don't have the same life experiences or personality as you. I have no way of knowing if you were indoctrinated with your beliefs, and/or if they were re-enforced through experience, or if you came upon them through self-discovery, if your attachment to them is from integrity or superficiality, if you've considered them objectively, or how much of your beliefs come from focused outside forces. I try not to judge. Everybody has their reasons for thinking the way they do.
As a rule of thumb, I'm mostly ashamed of my fellow humans for turning the ability to reflect and change one's mind into an undesirable characteristic.

:D I'm pleased.

Johnny, you rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard?
'Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and the Devil deals the cards.

Seriously, I never knew there was such thing as a good fiddle song before that.
It's got me singing it in the parking lot at work.

If a (slow) turtle and (fast) Achilles are racing with no pauses or breaks while going at a constant speed, and the turtle's start is delayed, over a certain period, the turtle should pass Achilles and continue getting ahead. How is that possible?

Who would win in a fight, Doctor Doom or Batman? Both of them have superior intellect and both of them never lose, they just escape and come back with a better plan. I dare you to answer that.

Sure thing mate.
Quote from: Dilbert;832797Is it true your grandfather could receive Edwin Hubble's mental waves from his top left canine?
No. My grandfather is dead, and even when he was alive he didn't have that tooth.
Quote from: SilverCherryClock;832798Granny, does your dog bite?
No, child, no.
Quote from: FluxCapacitorClock;832816What color underwear am I wearing?
Multiple colors. Mostly, though, they're orange. Weirdy.
Quote from: SockPuppetClock;832822If a (slow) turtle and (fast) Achilles are racing with no pauses or breaks while going at a constant speed, and the turtle's start is delayed, over a certain period, the turtle should pass Achilles and continue getting ahead. How is that possible?

You're giving me the graph from one of Zeno's stupid paradoxes, and then you're offering a complete different hypothetical situation.
In your scenario, two racers at a constant pace, one slow and one fast, with the slow one starting later, there's no way for the slower one to catch the faster one.
What you're basically asking me is "A != B, but A = B, how is this possible?"
It's not.
Quote from: Marlin Clock;832825Who started the fire?

We didn't, Spongebob Squarepants, a fool, so she lit up a candle, and she showed me the way, there were voices down that corrider... thought I heard them say, "Welcome to the Hotel California."

A tiger, with an elephant gun.

Batman would win, because his will is stronger than reality, but it would just be a Doombot. It's a psychological victory for Batman, though, as Doom resorts to merely returning each of them to their respective realities.
