the story or SSB is that none of the characters are real. They're all toys being played with by some kid. It isn't in the same universe as any of the other games. Of course they look like they belong together because all the toys are made in the same universe. The way I think it's goign to be in the stories for brawl is it's just a bunch of stories come up by the kid playing with the toys.

And FUTURE games having insane references? They already have them. You could get a yoshi doll in Links Awakening, Kirby Superstar had Mario and like 5 other mario game people in the stands of the Mega Punch game, and Link was in Super Mario RPG, just to name a few. Nintendo used to do that sort of stuff all the time.

To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

Nice update, the smoke ball will act as a good alternative to the item that made you invisible in melee.

It'll be especially dangerous on stages that have moving platforms.

Wow, that would be really dangerous, especially on moving stages like you said.  And that'd be a great spot to charge up ranged attacks(Samus' blast cannon) without other people seeing what you're doing.

Well, it's not a sound cancelling bomb.  You can still hear Samus's remarkable BWOOSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHHSH charging sound.  If you're playing against deaf kids it'd be pretty helpful though.

Mmmm I dont like this type of view blocking items so much since you have to deal with them too. The invisible thing in Melee, for example, I never found it really useful.

It also makes you so you don't take damage while you're invisible. I think that's worth not being able to see where you are.

Besides, any skilled player can instinctively know where they are positioned, or at least be able to see the very faint appearance that still exists.

Not to mention if you used a name in Melee, then anyone can see where you are!
if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock that'd be pretty fucked up wouldn't it?

I was going to say this but didn't want to sound like too much of a nerd :o

Strange update, so little explanation about the standard special move...

Seems like he basically changes it like DK's punch and them stabs the ground to start fires.

It's now very much obvious that Ike will not play like Roy or Marth at all.

Slurpee

I'd hazard to guess it's something like Roy's.

His up special looks almost exactly like Kirby's Final Cutter.

His up special looks almost exactly like Kirby's Final Cutter.

If I'm not mistaken though, Kirby can flinch during the attack.

Munglai

I like the way the updates are written. They're all casual and disorderly and I kind of like how he always leaves out a bit of information.

Wishful thinking.

By "charge" I think it means "stand in place and it gets stronger". Just like Roy.

About it looking like kirby, I think that it's just the screenshots make it look that way. Maybe you don't catch the sword until the top of the jump?

I think throwing the sword up is really great. If there was someone above me and I threw my sword at him I'd feel super cool.

Well ostensibly that still amounts to the same thing.

I'm pretty sure that's just a product of imperfect translation.

I was having the same idea on mind.

I just don't get something... why arent they mentioning tap and down specials?

Munglai

Yeah but I like it. Stuff translated from japanese is always phrased really funny and has odd pauses and lots of exclamation marks.

Pin Clock

If he doesn't catch the sword untill it's all the way up, it doesn't really look too great for getting back on the stage, and swooping Down doesn't seem helpful either.

And I think his B attack looks exactly like Roy's.
