I have mixed feeling about Warhol. He was surely a great artist with some innovative ideas, but he was also a total whore and a con man who was successful and famous more due to his ability to play the system and manipulate art fanatics than actual artistic merit.

EDIT: Then again, being a horrible person doesn't make the art they produce any worse. Just look at Micheal Jackson.

Oh he was a total douche and I'm not a big fan of his at all but saying his work sucks because they're just a bunch of pictures of soup or whatever is like saying The Beatles suck because their songs are too simple or that Hitchcock sucks because his films are predictable. All it takes to understand the importance of this stuff is a basic working knowledge of history and people who don't have that make me mad as hell
