So ever since I got this new video card, my processor or something has been going crazy

I'll go ahead and check right now though.
Don't get smart with me boy, you came in here asking for help and normally I get paid around $70/hour for my IT support. The reason I ask is it could be a physical problem with a fan, you haven't been very descriptive so far. We don't know specifically where the sound is coming from, whether it's your cooling fan on the CPU GPU or just a case fan. If one of those fins gets damaged it throws off the balance, or a bearing could go out causing a terrible racket. You just said it's a noise - does it sound like a grinding, a whirring, maybe a small child screaming at the top of it's lungs?

It's always like that.

According to your other post, the CPU usage seems totally in line with that the processes say they are using. I'd suggest ending that one '20 cpu using svchost' for kicks.
:]

Didn't mean for that to sound smart, sorry about that. And the noise is just a fan, at least that's what it sounds like.
HELLO EVERYONE.

I ended it and my CPU usage jumped down to like 5% and then I got some DCOM message and my computer restarted haha.
HELLO EVERYONE.

Open up the case and turn it on, try to pinpoint which fan it is. I could be that the one on your GPU is bad and making too much noise, in that case you would send it back and get a new GPU. It could also be that your graphics card's fan is just that loud since you're use to your integrated setup.

Oh, sorry for snapping at you, people ask me for help with their computers and generally its something silly, so when I suggest trying to do something very simple I tend to get a smart ass response and it really gets under my skin. I thought you were coming off like that is all.

Opened up the case and started the computer. From the moment the computer turns on, the computer goes into full throttle. From what I can tell it's the CPU fan making being loud.

Took the video card out, plugged everything back in. Computer started like normal, quiet. CPU fan was quiet.

Put the video card back in but left the vga cable into the integrated one. Don't think this changed anything lol, but I thought I'd try it just in case. CPU fan was loud, nothing on screen.

blah.

That is some rather odd behavior, I'm not sure how another card could cause the cpu fan to come on full blast. One thing you may have to do is get an adapter to pull power from a 12v cable rather than off the motherboard.

I would try working with the processes and fan settings the others are working you through first.

Yeah, I looked for a place to to plug something in on the card to give it power but I didn't see anything.

Also, did you mean something like this?

Thats exactly the cable I was thinking of, I'm thinking for whatever reason pluging your fan into the motherboard from the GPU is confusing it and causing all fans to run at max speed.

So that would mean the fan for my CPU would get power from the PSU, right?
Or my GPU fan?

you GPU fan would pull power from the PSU - just to make sure your GPU does have a cable that plugs into the motherboard for the fan correct?

No it doesn't. All I did was stick it in the slot and that's it. I thought it would be a lot trickier than that but nope.

Hmm well this problem may be very tricky to correct, it may be a compatibility issue with your motherboard and the pci card. You said it gets noisy as soon as you turn it on correct? If its noisy before POST then it's a hardware issue, if it's noisy after POST then it's Vista.
