Post here if you feel like you are up to the task, since Leek isn't doing it anymore and half the people didn't post a movie when they were supposed to.

i could organize and run it i think, i'm on a real film tear lately and it'd be good to keep me watching movies and improve knowledge of the language of cinema, let me tell you i'm very impressed with robclock's thread about the TPB movie, i feel as though not only the film but the food for thought questions he provided will really make for a tonne of great conversation outside of the typical "lol that was funny" "hahaha they r dumb"

seriously folks i love the trailer park boys but we're trying to promote intelligent conversation here, the discussion of directorial techniques, themes, tone and atmosphere, performances, scores, the screenplay, and seriously robclock, you were supposed to make that thread the 9th of APRIL and you came back today and through a slapdash thread together so you could try and take control of the film club, the questions? "what did you think of the characters?" "did it make you want to watch the tv show?" seriously those are tantamount to, DID YOU LIEK THIS MOVIE I LIKED IT LOTS TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU LIKE IT!

sheesh.

All I see here are two really long run-on sentences, and I'm not entirely sure I understand what they mean.

Rob was banned from the 29th of March till just a few days ago. There was no way he could post a thread the 9th of April on clockcrew.cc, but he did make the effort to post it elsewhere - and on time at that.

If I'm not mistaken, the film club was about promoting all sorts of different films, regardless of genre. Just because Rob didn't ask or comment on how the film was shot, or how the soundtrack added to atmosphere, or how the actors performed, doesn't mean you couldn't bring it up in the thread. Perhaps his presentation wasn't exactly the best by your standards, but a little respect would be nice.

well sorry i don't pay attention to when robclock is banned and i don't read clocktopia, and last time i checked i thought the film club was essentially the film version of a book club in which you discuss the artistic merits and what the authour was trying to convey as opposed to, "hey do you like the characters?" i'm sorry but i thought we were running a film club here not a recommendation station.

Maybe there needs to be established standards that keep people from recommending the unwanted types of film

I'll put my name forward.

Discourage trolling and promote good film discussion. I'm guessing that's the job spec.
