Hey there, it's your local freshman

I wanted to express my current state of feelings and wanted to get into flash a bit (and i think im making some progress there) but unfortunatelly i still have no idea of the whole thing.
so basically what i want to do is to loop this thing here, without the preloader popping up after the sequence is over. Also i want to play an ambient track in the background and it would be nice if it wouldnt start playing from the beginning or overlap after those 30 seconds. Help me out plz :-X

here's the swf http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/df85a7cadf91b802c702e769222f9a0a (18 kb lol)
and here's the track I'd like to play in the background http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/39063

Another question: I wanted to align a simple glow to the tv screen but i couldn't find an effects/filter menue anywhere. I know it can be done so WHERE IS IT >:C ?!
I suck.

DWARFINATORclock

If you want it to loop forever just put the sequence you want to loop in a movie clip and put the stop(); action in the frame on the regular timeline, this will prevent it from playing.
Like this:

If you want the sound to play but not overlap, just put another movieclip with the sound streamed into the same frame.

Filters can be found under properties:

The forum resizes the images so if you want to have a better look at them open them in a new tab.

Thank you DwarfinatorClock!
I'll get back to work on it
btw i love'd the "artistic movie plz" but it was kind of log time ago!

SockpuppetClock

alternative measure:

  • (optional) go to frame in which loop "begins" after the movie first ends, name it something (e.g., "loopStart")
  • (completely optional) go to point at which loop ends, name it something (e.g., "loopEnd")
  • put actionscript in the frame at end of loop:
gotoAndPlay("loopStart");("loopStart" can be replaced with frame number without quotes)
[/LIST]

Vielen Dank mr socketpuppetclock but i think I'm going to stick with the way dwarfinator explained it, seems to fit better for my purposes !

Seems I'm a bit late, but here's the code I use.
stop();
_root.gotoAndPlay(FRAME NUMBER);

You could also add an empty frame at the end with... stopAllSounds();  to prevent the sound from looping. (AS2)
