cc DnD guest DM?

I have a friend who would be willing to DM a CC DnD game, but he's not in the clock crew. He knows the rules like the back of his hand and would be willing to facilitate pretty much any tomfoolery, but his setting will probably be pretty serious. Would anybody be interested in this? How many people would actually make a character and play?
