I'd post this properly in the technology board but that board is slower than a downy that's been kicked in the head by a horse and I haven't got much time.  Anyway, I'm reaching out to you because I figured someone here may have experience and while I search and await answers elsewhere I thought I'd give it a shot.

My company has put me in charge of our phone scripting and I had never worked with Telephony before.  I've been picking up more and more over the past 2 months but I'm far from an expert.  They've thrown a curveball at me and I'm stumped, I haven't had any luck finding an answer anywhere.  Basically, our HR department wants a toll free to be used internally to contact 2 different people.  Issue is, they do not want these people to be placed in a CSQ or need to log into the agent desktop to receive calls.  I can transfer the calls to their lines directly, but I can't find any way to redirect to both their lines simultaneously, which is what they have requested.

Currently I have the script using a mod function based on the minute to determine who the primary call recipient will be and who will back up if it's busy or fails.  I do not desire to do it this way but I can't figure out how to send out both the calls at once.  Also, if the call gets answered by one I don't want the other to be able to answer the call.

How can they just put you in charge of something you never received proper training for?

Worst case scenario in case you never find your answer,  just do what I do when i dont know how/don't feel like doing something; tell them it cant be done and that there is no way to do it. Then kick back and browse reddit while updating facebook.

They put me in charge because I have the most programming experiences in things other than SQL at my company.  They figured it'd be an easy learn for me, which it hasn't been overly difficult.  It just feels like they're now throwing me into the ocean when I'm still learning to swim.  I know scripting, i just don't have all the telecommunication stuff down yet.  I've resolved all other issues until now and I feel like they've just thrown a big project on me at the last minute and it's something that is currently above my skill level.  We've come up with some ideas, but if anyone here has any input it would be much appreciated.  I'll give you all a hug and kiss and maybe some obligatory oral sex.

You could set both the phones as the same phone when the call goes to them, but when the call, the call is transferred to their own separate line? That way the other phone would still get calls if the other person is on the line.

I know nothing about coding or what you're doing so I dunno if that suggestion even makes sense.

Thanks Topcatyo.  That seems to be something similar to what we found out.  I do not think it is possible to do anything within the script to redirect to 2 numbers at once but the guy I'm working with on this informed me that we could run an extension to dial out to 2 separate phones at the same time.  So instead I'm having the script redirect to that extension.  Turns out we have other systems set up like this, the only difference is they want a menu with this one so we have to use the scripting.  The guy I'm working with has little knowledge on the scripting aspect and I have little on the telephone systems so it's made communication a hassle.  Well get better over time but for now it's all learning for both of us.
