Kingdom Hearts, each one of them.
They first like to give you the feeling its over, but then show some weird scene, and you have no idea what's going on, a few months later, they release the final mix in japan only, where its all explained.

of course its japanese only.

I was about to post about this too just now, but you beat me to it.
They didn't even have a real ending after the Overtime mode.

It's called keeping people anticipated and interested in a new one.

And why not have cliffhangers? If you generally loved the game, then you'll be expecting a sequel and most of the time the sequel's a lot better! (only in games really)
hej.

Which makes shit-all sense seeing more than half the characters are american and the game is catered to disney-loving american audiences.

Worst video game cliffhanger of all time:
When they were certain they'd make another, but couldn't!

Tex Murphy was the best detective adventure game series ever and one of the only games with live-action video that not only didn't suck, but was great.  The ending to the last one was a major cliffhanger involving a shot girlfriend a stolen car.  But resolution was never to be.

Microsoft, which bought Access Software in the 90s, didn't want to make another, and later sold it... to Take-Two Interactive!  They changed it to "Indie Built," and closed it in 2006.  So I guess Tex is dead for sure, but just imagine what Take-Two could do with Tex and Chris Jones* if only they realized what they had!  One can only dream. :( :(

*Chris Jones, by the way, not only played Tex (very well), but was a game developer and co-owner of Access Software, responsible for the Links golf series!  How cool is that?  I hope he's rich and well!

If I'm playing a game for 20 hours hours +/-, I want some form of closure on the goddamn game.
Not only that, but it takes a year or more to make the next game, and by then I just don't feel like bothering anymore.
I was super excited about Spore when I first saw the video about it.  5 months later I don't even care any more.

Portal also had an annoyingly not-there ending.

This is the only answer you guys are looking for, there is no need to extend this thread further.

It's called give me the end to a fucking story.  Black was released in 2006 and it never had an ending.  Now it's two years later.
Ratchet and Clank had an ending, yet they made sequels.
Halo 3 ended on jack shit.
