Yeah. Possibly right before WW. It was around this time that Ganondorf was released. So maybe Ganon was locked in Twilight. Or something...

No, if TP was right before WW it would end in the evil overcoming the land.

I usually go with the tree/split timelines. And I take in account in what order the games were released to cover up for the continuity screw ups.

My theory goes like this:

OoT/MM +-> WW -> PH
   -> TP

------------------------------------------------------------

First timeline: Before there was a need for one. It includes both NES games, which now appear like experiments with a new character more than a serious part of the timeline, so I keep them apart.

Main timeline: The legendary storyline, with every element: the Triforce, the Master Sword, the origins of Ganon, the sages, etc. It started with A Link to the Past, then Ocarina of Time was created to re-enact the story that led to A Link to the Past, but then OoT suddenly became the root of different alternate storylines that ruled LttP out, so it has to split.

Four Sword timeline: This one has to stand separate from the others because so many elements are missing, including the Triforce, the Master Sword, and even Ganon who only gets a small cameo in the end. There's a slight chance that FSA might lead to ALttP since the Hyrule it takes place into is nearly the same, but it would cancel out OoT being the past of ALttP.

On another note, Ganondorf and Ganon are the same entity. I'm sure that the boar form is basically Ganondorf who fell victim to his own curse. You know, the curse stating that any being entering the Dark World takes on a shape that reflects their heart (PINK BUNNY LINK!). I think that explanation makes a lot of sense.
