And to rekindle another argument, the Beatles' (and some other great bands at the time) art did have Zappa's ideology (introducing new sound techniques to popular music, etc.), but unlike Zappa, whose art only were directed to a certain day's needs and nothing else, they added to it some real artistic creativity without looking back at obsolete patterns they needed to replace. They just worked on and created real, truly independent and timeless art.
