My dad moved from the US to the UK twenty something years ago and he says yeah he's pretty much happier in every way. In fact the thing that pisses him off the most is still American politics.  Pretty good indication is that England probably has more shows making fun of politicians and the news than actually reporting it.

Also don't the Democrats have a super majority? Doesn't that means it's impossible not to get anything through?

I'm sorry, I really don't know too much about how the whole American system works.
