I bet'll be a re-imagining. Maybe Scarface will be an Italian mobster during the 20s? That would be an interesting take on the character, with booze replacing cocaine and period politics instead of 80s politics.

According to a Twitter post I read (totally legit information then) Universal is saying it's neither a Remake or a Sequel, so my guess is it's a spinoff sitcom.

Advertisers have avoided using the word 'remake' when describing remakes, because the word has a bad reputation due to all the awful remakes coming out lately. So, it probably is a remake, but they  think that they can trick people into liking the movie by calling it something else (like 're-imagining'). Of course, what they don't realize is that a turd by any other name would smell just as rank.
