Thing about all these new freedom-robbing bills is that the government does what it wants, and all these acts are doing are giving them a bit more validation to do it. Detaining people indefinitely without trial? Look at Gitmo. SOPA? Look what just happened to MegaUpload. As for this, I'm positive that if you type two ingredients of a dirty bomb into a chat conversation a CIA computer clicks on somewhere due to the Patriot Act. So it's great to oppose these things, and I think we all should, but rest easy that if the government really wants to do something, it's going to do it whether we like it or not. Just a question of how secretively it goes about it.

Megaupload was taken down because piracy is already illegal, SOPA is just a more convenient way of stopping piracy. It was already a law that any person who was captured while fighting against the US in combat would be held without trial. Not having censorship bills or laws that soldiers can come ransack your house, beat the shit out of you, and then haul you off to a FEMA camp, just make it more difficult for the government to do whatever the fuck it wants.
