yo this game is fuckin hard guys.

Can anyone tell me the benefit of becoming human? I just end up dying anyways, but besides being able to look at my cleric lady's smokin hot bod, I don't see the point to spending humanity on it.
Also kindling? Wtf does that shit do. And did I fuck up by not choosing the master key?

Going human makes you look nice, and makes it so you can summon people for help from their white or yellow signs on the ground. Being human also makes it so people can invade you as red spirits and try to kill you.

Also, being human lets you kindle. When you kindle a bonfire, it makes it so that bonfire gives you 5 extra estus when you rest at it. Right now you can only kindle fires once so you get up to 10 instead of 5 estus. Save your humanities for when you are having trouble and need extra estus for an area.

So basically to kindle, you need 2 humanities. One to become human and another to use on the kindling. Firelink Shrine is already pre-kindled.

What kind of character are you using? Never invest in Resistance, and don't take a stat past 30 for now.

I'm a cleric lady. Had to get that easy heal spell, and I'm a sucker for maces. I'm building up my endurance strength and dexterity. Have a shortbow already, but I mostly just used it to shoot that dragons tail and to lure enemies out of crowds. Is there any benefit to having several humanities active? I know as long as you do a successful corpse run you can recover those. But I was wondering if being more human makes you stronger or anything.

Having extra humanities while you are human gives you negligigible resistances and defense, and makes you find items easier. it's mostly for people who are doing PVP and win lots of humanities. Item humanities are a pain in the butt to get so I'd save them for kindling and when you need help with a boss. I wouldn't use them for item finding unless I knew exactly what I needed and knew that it was dropped from an enemy that doesn't respawn.


If I were you I'd focus on getting strength and endurance with some HP, and enough faith to use the miracles you want.

Don't raise any stats above 40 because they stop having much affect after that point. I'd only get enough dexterity to use the shortbow because the manual aim comes in handy at a lot of parts like with the dragon tail. Don't put much in faith till later because there aren't a whole lot of useful miracles, but there are good ones later you will want to get. In my opinion basic heal is the best heal because you get the most casts out of it and it still heals me for a lot of HP.
