good thing they tarnished harper lee's legacy by releasing a bogus sequel before she passed on with grace and dignity

eco finally succumbed to that bullet wound i gave him 7 years ago. he was a brilliant man and a tough son of a bunch but he should have let me take his chair

umberto eco

damn it, no! :(
i love umberto eco's books!
he was a great writer, an intellectual, and a very likeable person.

RIP.

(also RIP to all the other people who died today as well.)

moral: never steal slurpee's chair.

dude, which are your favorite eco's books?

i like ''the island of the day before'', ''baudolino'', the mysterious flame of queen loanna, numbero zero, foucaults pendulum, the name of the rose, and the prague cemetery, to name a few.
heck, i like all of his books!
its very sad to hear about his death.

did you actually read foucault's pendulum because holy shit

AnkhClock

I don't doubt for a moment that BB10 is actually the most well-read out of all the Clocks.

i have read (almost) all of umberto eco's books, except from foucault's pendulum, because i never got the time to fully enjoy it.
i will complete it this summer, its standing in my library, and its awesome.

(i think its chapters were divided by sephiroths? thats what i still remember after a quick read)

BTW, did you liked eco's analysis on the thoughts of a stone about the universe?
(in ''the island of the day before'', i believe that it was a beautiful philosophical analysis on what a rock would possibly ''think'', if it was aware of its existence somehow.)

kant and the platypus

or do you just mean in general?

brothers karamazov, the notebook the proof and the third lie, illuminatus!, timequake, at swim two birds

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

I wanted to like timequake but I kept getting bored just a little ways into it and reading something else instead, sometimes by vonnegut specifically. I need to give it a proper shake, it was his last book and I was always curious about it.
