I am using a portable version of Flash CS3. When I import the "natural voices" demo sounds it comes out high-pitched. I tried to fix it in Audacity, but but I imported the sound file in Audacity it sounded normal. What is this? It is for the Christmas Variety show collab due tomorrow.

Try opening the sound file in Audacity, open the menu next to the X button on your audio track, go down to "Rate," and change it to twice the value of whatever it already is (for example, 22050Hz -> 44100Hz).

The problem has something to do with the rate of the audio. I can't replicate the problem, but when it happened to me, I think I fixed it by changing that "Rate" or the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of Audacity window).
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

:this:

Why: It sounds like it's saved with a variable bit rate and it's confusing Flash. Save as a constant bitrate (96 mbps is plenty).

I did with both the project and track rate, and I think that just made it worse.

oh shit whoops by "twice what it was" I guess I actually meant "half what it was"

because if it's too fast you should be making it slower
