As a staff we have been paying attention to popular vote, and have been considering it for some time. This time I thought it would be fair if you all saw those results as well for if it had been that type of election.

Looking at these data results combined with the fact that our last passed motion was to cut staff down to 5 smods. (2 spots less) It's my opinion as well as the opinion of others that because of the lack of clarity in results, and the already expressed desire to reduce staff that we should pass this motion and cut the number down early. That being said because it's a big issue I feel I wanted to share it with you all publicly. The new staff will discuss this possibility on the grid, and vote on it. Also we would like your opinions on this, and how you feel about the runoff v. popular vote system? Also it's worth considering that because Lump is a treasurer his valued opinion would still be on the grid.

Soon we will be holding elections for mayor.

We'll be switching over everybody in and out of the grid as soon as I get a hold of Trop.

It's no secret to everyone in the grid that was around last election that I've always favored the popular vote system rather than the weighted votes in the runoff system.

That being said, I think that cutting the smods down to 5 for this election would be just fine. In my opinion, there really isn't a large enough userbase anymore to warrant 7 smods. If two smods are cut, Lump should definitely be kept as treasurer and an advisor ^{like me.}

wait, whats the difference between the first list, and the second one?
is the first list the runoff system, and the second list the ''popular vote'' system?

if so, how come the first 2 people on the list got 149 votes? does that mean that 27 normal votes, count for 149 ''weighted'' votes, or does it mean that 27 normal votes count for 149 per cent of the (current) userbase prefferences?

i am so confused, but yeah, good work guys, flounderman, pop's and patriot are the best choises for the s.mods positions.
they are good, loyal and reliable.

also, be sure to keep polyhendron, and lump in the staff at every cost, and for all time, because they are very valuable, and helpfull.

Run off system the votes are weighted as per the instructions left on the ballots. Most people followed that although some folks still did not. The popular vote system is when each vote only counts as one. The first list is the runoff system and that's what we're still using for now while keeping track of the popular vote system. This will be something else the staff will look at.

Thank you fellow clocks for participating in the election! This is a very exciting line up you've chosen and I'm really looking forward to working with this team!

After introducing the topic for discussion in the Grid, it appears as though the consensus is to keep the current admin team in their roles for the next term. Abs, Patty and I feel truly honored by and grateful for the support we've been shown. We are committed to taking this community to higher ground!

Since the results of the winners would be exactly the same if the list was parsed down to 8, plus the fact that we really don't need 7 smods, I'd say I'm in favor of trimming it down now.

We've already voted on this. Everyone voted yes except English who voted no, and Lump who didn't cast a vote. We'll be removing them from the democracy machine when Trop gets home. Lump will go back to just treasurer, and English will become a regular clock.

That being said I look forward to working with this new bunch, and I hope we can make the CC bigger and better.
