How does a lowly peasant such as myself contribute to this Tumblr page?

I've made a ton of Clock related posts on my drawings blog if you'd care to cherry pick and reblog them.

haven't read a single post in this thread other than the first one. you know i thought about this years ago and i reached the conclusion that for the clock crew to progress i would have to copyright and monetize the clock crew for my own personal gain. the issue is that the clock crew is made up of a bunch of kids (at least, i was in grade school when i first pirated macromedia flash and got to tooling around with it) and is something that is done in spare time. it is a bunch of weird, too-niche in-jokes and way too immature to really evolve. i just thought of this place today for the first time in what seems like forever.

is there a point to a place and a 'group' like this? not really. even if the jokes became actually 'funny' i feel like the concept of clock faces on inanimate objects is just too abstract for the masses (and even then, i think most people just glom onto the clock crew because it is easier to tween two moving objects, one atop the other, instead of animating something frame by frame)

as a jumping off point for creativity over a decade ago, sure, the clock crew was great. but who needs it now?

Personally, I'd be happy if we were all sharing our art like we used to and teaching each other new things, but in a more grown-up way. I'm sure a fair amount of us design for our jobs, or at least aspire to, and you can never get enough practice in. Not necessarily clock stuff, but that's always just been an excuse to do the art, and a starting point for ideas.

Oh look everyone. It's SpriteRemix, the clock who hates fun, and contributes nothing but cynicism.

Oh yeah, now I remember.

What a trip down memory lane this has all been.

you got me.

another thing i do wonder is what happened to orange and the original guys. did they go on in web design/animation/freelance careers? probably. but it's not enough to speculate. i have to know, man.

i used to contribute things. i used to animate. but it all just seems so weird and dorky here now. was it always this way, or were we this weird and dorky together?

honestly i don't know if i would ever mention to a single person in my real life what we used to do around here. i'd be too embarassed, like someone finding a decades old photo of you. yes, i wore those pants. let's never speak of it again. i look back on the posts i used to make and i just took all of this SO SERIOUSLY, and honestly, i'm ashamed of having been so intense about it. the people want to be weird and annoying, let them be weird and annoying. no one ever forced me to be here. i wished i'd realized it years ago.

When I was younger I used to be embarrassed by the idea of people finding out about all of this stuff, but having now been away for a few years and being an adult, in a relationship for years, and generally being confident - I don't really care. Everyone has nerdy stuff they're into. Animation and art are cool. Sure we went about it in a pretty cringey way, but I personally developed the skills that pay my bills here, and so it's always going to be a little bit special.

EDIT: For the record, I'm not saying it's cool how it is here now. It's completely dead and this is the most I've posted in almost a decade. But people still hang around for the same reason I mentioned. It's a special place.
