i have lots of things on me, so i can't give you any precise dates

also shut up:

• never said there won't be any embedding at all, i said there won't be any swfs instead there will be mp4/webm videos
• until flash format is open sourced and made publically acessible there won't be much sense to embed swfs anywhere, plus starting from FF55 flash is disabled by default
• if you want interactivity so much stick to html5+js or webgl, adobe animate exports to that

hopefully by your estimate, in 2019 this thing will be still relevant

flash really is the java of online crap. The vm its shit runs in is pretty slow, but until HTML5+js runs the same on every system (and I don't just mean it doesn't work, I mean it's slow and error-prone on older computers) you can't honestly think you can replace swf games by telling people "Hey, come use my website. It can only host movies but if you want games you have to learn an entirely new thing that's almost as good and not even close to the same thing" I'm sure people will flock.

afaik there's not really webdev category around here, just flavours of spam and shitposting (as expected)

too bad there's almost no participation for that [category] to be made (and/or cleaned up/improved) by lazy busy VCR or someone with the rights (come on, i only know 2 web programmers here, including myself)
