i assume that they really like the awesome, wild hair that the men in FF display, and therefore they want to look like that.
plus, most male characters in the FF have elegant, animesque (almost feminine) features, so it makes them look like femboys somehow, and for them(LGTB people) this must be attractive or something.

because i actually have many friends and relatives that are gay and/or members of the LGTB community, and i generally respect all of LGTB's rights.
