because your flashes with 2000 views that were going to get 100 views over the next ten years were going to get flagged with DMCA notices where Tom gets in no trouble whatsoever as long as he just takes them down

I wonder if he's worried from his experience with IP copyright issues, or if the site got financial backing from a music company all of a sudden



Your SWFs are still there in the projects page. Download them all and put them in a zip, copypaste the project's description/other data? I wouldn't mind making a page hosted on Homogang that was like a LOST FLASHES library

my thoughts exactly.

i've seen some great CC classics gone by this stupid music ''preemptive strike rule'', and i've also seen many NG classics gone, including some old stickfigure movies/series, beebo, the numa-numa parodies, aaand scrotum the dog.
i mean, WTF, newgrounds?

there should be a loophole stating that ''all old movies/all movies created before 2017 should get a ''free pass'' from this music-use removal thing'' and that all current+future movies will be prohibited from using copyrighted music.
but i have to say this:
seriously who would care if someone uses a music track for a flash movie that is created for fun, and not for profit?
(and in 99% of the cases, all flash authors credit the artists names/the song titles in their movies, so they are doing their part of the deal correctly).

but then again, the music industry is paranoid, so what can i say...
