Not accoording to the tier list.

Last time I checked the Tier for Melee, Fox, Falco and Marth are right at the top, though I might be mistaken.

I play as Pikachu myself.

I prefer Kirby, but I've been known to use Shiek and Marth a bit. Anyway:

Top Tier

Sheik
Marth
Fox

Upper Tier

Peach
Falco
C. Falcon
Samus

High Tier

Jigglypuff
Dr. Mario
Ganondorf
Mario
Ice Climbers

Middle Tier
Luigi
Link
Roy
DK
Pikachu
Zelda

Lower Tier

Ness
Young Link
Yoshi
Kirby
Mr. Game & Watch
Bowser

Bottom Tier

Mewtwo
Pichu

Kirby really got toned down for melee, in the original he was pretty much top.

Yeah, his running A move is that gay fireball in melee, i think it used to be a slide or something in ssb.

I usually play as Mario, Fox or Link

You know, that just occured to me that his Running A move, when he turns to a fireball is another enemy ability from his games, just like Cutter, Stone, Hammer and Copy.

I thought the main Kirby tone down was his B-Up move. when it was going down and hit the opponent in the original, they wouldn't be able to stop falling, forcing them to die. but in Melee, they stopped the endless falling.
if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock that'd be pretty fucked up wouldn't it?

Seriously? ALL kirnies moves are copies. Burning, rock, hammer, cutter etc.

BAN EVERYBODY

PepperClock

can someone tell me why marth is good but roy isnt according to that tier list? and not some sarcastic answer either, cause I was always under the impression roy was better.

Pin Clock

It is also a question why Jigglypuff is very high in the teirs.

Yup, infact if you go play Kirby and the Amazing Mirror for the GBA, one of the minibosses is Master hand, beat him and copy him to get the smash ability and use the exact same moveset from Melee. (Up+B For part of cutter ability, Side+B for Hammer, Down+B for Stone, B for his A mash attack, the fast punches, B in air for spinning attack)
(Sprite sheet of moveset)
What's more is that the main boss for the area in that game is Master Hand and Crazy Hand!

(Sprite sheet)

These are the enemies he copies. (From Kirby Superstar at least, some games have differing abilities and enemies.)

Come to think of it, some of his throws mimick this ability.

Or maybe some from this guy?

Largely important of course is Kirby's Super Smash Move as seen in the trailer.

Marth is faster and has better range.  Roy's generally stronger, but if you hit with Marth's tip he's devastating.  The best characters are all very fast because a good player can just do more with them.

Jigglypuff is up there for good reason, somewhat quick, no slouch for power, a move that's pretty much instant kill when your opponent has around 40 damage.

And really good with midair combos.

WaterClock

i was a bitch with kirby, fave character easily.

i never understood what the point was in jiggly puffs move where she sleeps.

RupeeClock

If you're touching someone and execute her sleep attack, it can send them flying.

Try doing a ton of damage to sand bag and using it, he'll easily fly a few hundred meters.

Are you serious?  Most powerful move in the game.

The centre of Jiggly (where the bubbles appear) must be touching someone, the move will do 30 or so damage and send them flying, hard to pull off, but very easily worth it.

Do you guys wavedash? Just curious.

NesquikClock

I learned how to wavedash because I know that SSBB's online mode will be full of wavedashers as much as Mario Kart DS's online mode is full of snakers (which I support btw :3 ) .

AdrenalineClock

Wave dashing wasn't an intentional feature.  I'm not so sure it will be in Brawl.

RupeeClock

I don't wavedash, doesn't seem like a very popular technique anyway, so it lets you run up a little bit faster.

I mean, I think snaking must've at least been a lot more intentional than wavedashing was in the programming.
