I don't want to sound like a hypocrite or a hollow minded but, is it that hard to make good games these days?

Especially on the Wii?

Game companies believe they need to impress us, and we want something different out of a game. They are afraid to try new things because they think we won't like it.

Let's make a console, and call it the CCVG. It's beloved by old fans, and it likes to franchise games. It's rivaled by the LLVG. There are 3 new titles for the CCVG. The reactions to each go as follows:

Spitball Mania is a brand new game comes out, trying to be unique. It's a game about shooting spitwads - People complain that the game is crap, as it doesn't hold any biased opinions, it being brand new and what not.

SnakeClock's Spitout is a franchise game comes out, trying to be unique. It's a game where SnakeClock shoots spitwads - It gets hooked in previews for something new, and exciting. When it is released, LLVG fans say that it's worthless, but those diehard CCVG fans say they are wrong, and they say it is a lot of fun, not even realizing that non-franchise game is exactly like this one, minus the SnakeClock. Other CCVG fans already realized it, and are only slightly inclined to buy it. The franchise game is just as unfun as the brand new one, but the franchise addition makes some believe that it could be better.

Super SnakeClock Bros is a franchise game comes out, as a near clone of the last game of the franchise - LLVG say it's a waste of money to purchase, since there is nothing new to offer other than a new plot. CCVG fans say it wasn't anything new, and they wanted something new from it. A few CCVG fans get it, but not all of them want to "waste their money" on the game, regardless of whether or not that new plot makes the game more fun.

These are the general happenings of a new game. Even if that SnakeClock's Spitout turns out to be crap, they can get more money off out of the deal, because gamers think that a cool neat addition to a franchise game makes it really fun. Super SnakeClock Bros. is still a really fun game, but people don't feel the need to get it, because they have a game like it. People don't want to think they spent their money on something they already own, so game companies try really hard to make up new ideas to make a game fun.

TL;DR - Game companies believe that a franchised game will earn them more money if they add a quick zinger into the game. Those kind of games sell more because of the zinger, but they aren't always fun.

SnakeClock

Best ending ever. I didn't see it coming.

Slurpee

That was almost abnormally good.

I loved "so excited to be here," "superstar tag team," and the thingy after the credits.

WreckingBallClock

So what's up with that ending... ad? The phone calls... what was that all about?

Yahtzee is so popular the escapist runs ads at the end of his reviews.

Also this one was pretty good.
if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock that'd be pretty fucked up wouldn't it?

I don't think that's what he's talking about. Also the Escapist puts adds for other videos they have at the end of every video.

Asshatclock

so do people actually watch the other video's on the escapist ?

Marlin Clock

I watch Unforgotten Realms, that one's pretty good.
It was originally a series made on Newgrounds, the guy who makes it is the same one that made that "Splash Attack" flash.

It started out with 100% comedy but I can mind the bit of seriousness he put in it recently.
