I have yet to see anyone else on this forum who plays this game. It may be from lack of knowledge or just lack of caring but I will attempt to get some of you to play this.

Dwarf Fortress Wiki: Here you can find a link to the newest release download and loads of guides which if you don't read them you will never do anything.

This game is about running a fortress of whatever design you decide on and attempting to survive for as long as possible. The game has no goal to it other than whatever you want to do. It has ACSII graphics so that is a warning. The content makes up for it so if you think graphics matter you don't even understand the quality of content in this game. Find another game where you can encrust cat skulls with diamonds and wear them as a glove and tell me about it.

I suggest reading the wiki because it has more information than I currently know about the game and I have played it for over a month now.

Give the game a shot. You might enjoy it.

Wow. It took a while. Yes this game keeps getting better every new release.

Bump because this game is fucking awesome, been playing it since mid '06 or something along those lines. The wiki is a godsend for anyone new to the game.
