Quote from: O-Ring;1245885But damn. Before the Frozen Throne units there was just no amount of Huntresses / Druids of the Claw / Hippogryph riders that could hold back the waves of Burning legion + Scourge when they reached the Horde base. Even with the use of those goblin mines and furbolg mercenairies.
Because you need thrall to lose to continue, then you can hold them off at your base

The barbarian guy with the big hammer in God of War 2.

I had a very strong need to slap someone at sony in the face while fighting this guy...

Not that he is SO very hard to beat. But when he turns into his GIANT form the camera moves down to the ground, so cant tell anymore if you are near or far away from the camera, you lose your sense for depth.
And if that wouldnt be annoing and irritating enough, the camera also starts rotating from time to time. So you never know if you are standing next to the barabrian guy or if you are far away from him, or if your next move will really bring you, where you want, or if the camera just fucks again so that you are walking in the wrong direction.
This way its only a matter of luck, if you are able to dodge his attacks. >:C

I opened this thread and knew the first post would be Jinpachi.  Fuck that faggot.

God, nothing about it was hard, but jesus was it the most boring drawn out final set in a game.
I mean, having to kill Jecht, all of your Aeons, and then the 9999999hp ball thing is just the most annoying ending a game could ever have -- again, nothing hard, but REALLY drawn-the-fuck-out.

That may indeed be the winner for most "Infuriating."  If you don't go through all the bullshit to get all the extra aeons, you don't have to fight them.  It's like being punished for doing more! Also, if you cast reflect on the giant tick thing, it'll keep healing itself and healing you instead. What a letdown.

Is it for PS2?

Yep.

It actually gets really easy once you retry it 500 times.

Fuck that. I never let those undead near my base. It's all about screwing the humans and sending all your people to the ork camp.
Scombridae?

Seriously. Mortal Combat is for 9 year-olds (and I back this up with my babysitting experience), and Tekken is for my childhood memories and later arcade pleasure.

It's all about the mercs! just have loads of healing guys and such.  usually i can hold them of at the human base for a while and fight it out in the orc base for the last 10 minutens.  Never gotten to my own base.

Yellow 13 in mission 05 (Lifeline), on Ace Mode
(Ace Combat 04)

You're not actually supposed to fight him yet, you're even ordered to retreat immediatly. But after litteraly days of trying I got him. Of course it doesn't affect the storyline at all, and the extra points are not worth all the trouble.

The End is the gold standard of "hard but not frustrating."

That entire fight was awesome and if you found it infuriating you're a punk bitch.

Have I mentioned Metroid Prime in Metroid Prime? That motherfucker gave me so much trouble. Metroid Prime 2's final boss wasn't nearly as hard.

This. It's not much of a "boss" in the proper term (since it's an unlockable and the toughest song on Pump it Up Pro), but this poorly done stepchart especially on Nightmare, is stupid.

Topcatyo

Every boss in Red Faction 2.  Having giant missile things destroying your cover while constantly respawning enemies also attack you with missiles and sniper rifles and lasers.
The final boss really pissed me off.  First he's in a ginormous mech that shoots rockets that destroys your only cover:  A tv screen.  The only way to survive is to get behind a single tiny beam that manages to block the missles.  You just keep going back and forth and waste your ammo on him until, around the final quarter of his health, his mech is destroyed and he gets out.
Then he has a rail gun that shoots through everything and takes away one of your lives (you have lives or something that go away when your health goes down, and you die when you run out).  So you could be running, but he'll manage to shoot you on the spot and kill you regardless of where you are.  Thank God your one friend has a helicopter that he uses to constantly shoot the guy and take down his health, but he's still fucking hard.  I only managed to beat him by a ridiculous amount of luck and devil worship.

Not really a boss but the High Charity mission in Halo 3 where you're freein' Cortana is a pain in the ass on high difficulties...and these Floods are so repulsive you get sick of playing the level after a while.

Haha, Yeah that took me like 6 attempts on legendary. Fucking annoying.
