Masks?

I posted this picture in my welcome thread:

After posting it, people told me to use thinner lines and use "Masks", like a happy mask. What are masks?

Masks are a special kind of layer, everything you draw in it, will shield a certain part of an image in a lower layer to not be erasen.

right click the layer select mask...

Or control click, on a Mac. Also, I suggest making your fla one shard of the Triforce, since you are TriforceShardClock and I think there's already a TriforceClock. Maybe including the outline of the rest of the triforce.

lol a shard of a triforce would be triangle!

he'd need the outline but that would be weird.

Thanks. OK, now, how do I make it permanant? When I unlock the layer, the mask dissepears, and it just looks like a big box on it.

Keep the layers locked.

It is permanent. It shows it when you unlock so that you can edit it.

Yeah, you unlock the layer just to edit the masking if needed, just keep it locked if you want to see the result.

Also, TriforceShard, you can find most of this information you're making threads about in the Flash Tutorials subforum. Be sure to set the display options to from the beginning!

Actually, there are much more. You just need to set that filter thing at the bottom to 'Beginning'.
