THE HELVETICA SCENARIO

In Zimbabwe...
I don´t know if many Americans are in the know about this but we´ll see.

I think the outcome is certain.  Mugabe is a lunatic who will do and say anything to hold power.  He will choose pissing off the British and whites in general over feeding his own people any day of the week.  He´ll get "elected" and pretend it´s a "victory" over the west or even something more crazy.

Yet noone´s thinking of removing him.  Should we?

Your thoughts on the current situation?

Oh ok.

We were facing a similar situation in Mexico in 2006. This gramps called Andres Manuel "Peje" Lopez Obrador was attempting on flipping the whole economic system with plainly removing taxes for the working people. Luckily he didn't make it.

However he currently is leader of the revolutionary party and he calls himself "the real president" by democracy. Which didnt. And is simply a case of a bad loser. With Alzheimer.

I think we should cut all ties with Africa and let them do their own thing for a while, to see how that'll work out for them btw.

I´m getting close to feeling this way too.
They all say that don´t want help from us imperialist evil fucking bastards.

So why not withdraw the aid if they are really serious?

Yeah, if they think they can do it better without any aid from us let them try it. And when they find out they can't, don't try to help them for like 10 years. And if then they still haven't figured it out start sending help again, but make sure they know they owe us their lives and everything.

Perhaps Zimbabwe is finding itself in this situation because it actually needs a guy like that, or isn't ready for democracy.

I know it sounds wrong, but I've heard similar arguments before.

Roman Collar Clock

It's become clear that rebuilding other countries is just too expensive. :army:

Is there really any possible way to help africa now?

Loki Clock

Maybe if the term is short enough and he doesn't actually go to war it will be better to just let him be a shitty first president and hope that doesn't set a precedent (har har). People are pretty capable of realizing their elected leaders weren't necessarily the best ones during or by the end of their reign, even if it takes hundreds of years for that to be the popular opinion.

I don´t really think so now.
I do think there is only one way we might be able to make them a little happier though, stop helping them.

Quote from: CadillacClock;1268312Mugabe has been in power for nearly 20 years. Furthermore, he has never lost the title as President of Zimbabwe. Although, he is labeled a dictator and a tyrant by the west, he is still considered the legal president in Africa. ...Even while going over the restricted time of presidential power. This is the first time an election has been legally held since the '80's with hope for change. As for war: Africa, especially Zimbabwe, is always at war.

I understand the situation, then. I think the U.N. should make it their priority to try and deal with it diplomatically, first, if he gets reelected, then if he still refuses, have him completely deposed and have a new election.
