Need pc build help

My PC was fried by lightning and I am on an extremely tight budget and thinking the best route is to build it myself. Now I already have a monitor and a copy of WinXP. So could one of you build experts get me the best possible PC out of say 600 dollars?

I highly, highly recommend Magic Micro.  I got an awesome custom barebones from them for less than $500.  They also have an Ebay store which is pretty much the same.  They are very customizable, and you can buy as little or as much as you like.

By the way, Are any of the parts from your old PC salvageable?

I would rather not use any of the parts on my old PC. They are old and this is the perfect excuse to leave them behind. Though the part I still want, my hard drive, is dead and my entire music collection is gone.
