this is a bad day for your privacy.

I think google should give viacom all the information on 1.4mb floppy disks.

Things like this make me sad for the Internet's future. Viacom can go shove something hard and non-organic up their ass.

If YouTube were still a standalone organization, the original owners would have to take the heat once the hammer fell, but because google is now their owner, they're responsible.

well I was getting at your italic text. I don't get why it's funny that it happened after Google took it over. Because Google is like gigantic and stuff?

So now the courts need to know what movies we choose to watch in the privacy of our homes.

The government is getting more and more paranoid every day.

AbsintheClock

This is absolutely criminal as far as I'm concerned. What Americans view in the privacy of their own homes is their business. Things like IP addresses, login names, and other information is more than ample information to find out things that the internet keeps anonymous. This also means Viacom can use this information to try and sell your information to private companies. This is a sad sick case of consumerism not capitalism. In a true capitalist society it is the consumer that controls the market. In today's society it is the conglomerates that control everything.

Moose Clock

Well maybe if they put better shows on tv we wouldn't have to use youtube to find the gems.

The government is going to find out I've been watching uploaded episodes of anime on youtube and then I'll be kicked out of the Army for being a faggot. :(

Too late honey I sent em our special video.

Google needs to keep it's servers in it's own microcountry.

This suck a whole, whole lot.

However, YouTube's Web 2.0 automation already does reveal things. On my account, the "related videos" that appear next to some videos that I've made and uploaded are ones that I've just viewed and have nothing to do with the video.

RomanClock

Viacom =/= the government
However, its still pretty bad. I'm guessing this a combination between recent gains by Google and Viacom wanting to get some of it.
lemayo lol :soups:

Thats total Bull.
I hate Television companies because of shit like this.
