Seriously though, topics like this won't help you at all. Find something incredibly stupid to get addicted to (trying to beat the space giraffe high score, dynomite, bejeweled/any other popcap.com game) and do that for three weeks. Don't go outside, don't go to a bar, avoid any situation you'd normally smoke.

For me it'd be easy as I'd only have to take off some time from work and hang around here for a couple of weeks without leaving the house. I'm not used to smoking indoors so staying indoors will help avoid thinking about it.

I've went two weeks without smoking this way. You'll get the craving for it but not nearly as much as when you walk into a bar.


Edit - If there's anything in the world that will make me NEVER EVER quit smoking, it's QUIT SMOKING commercials. Seriously, they piss me off like nothing else.
