QuoteNintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has apologized for the approach the company took at this year's E3 press conference and the perception that it has abandoned the "core gamers." He tells Forbes that the feelings of neglect Nintendo fans might be feeling is a "misunderstanding" and the company wants to "get rid of that misunderstanding by any means." Iwata explains "big titles" require time and Nintendo didn't think this was the year to announce any.

The other thing Iwata's conversation with Forbes covers is the continuing Wii supply shortage in the US. The CEO expresses that Nintendo is 100% committed to having Wii be available this holiday, but can't make any guarantee. He believes the best he can do right now is say the company is doing its best to supply the States with consoles.
Nice.

Bullshit, if they have time to make shitty casual games then they should have time to at least come up with an idea for a real game. Either Nintendo's gotten lazy or they just don't give a fuck anymore.

That's been a trend lately; game developers like Nintendo and SEGA have let their work go to the dogs.  They probably think that since the global economy is in a permanent depression, no one has time to play games.

"Didn't think this was the year to announce any"? Bullshit. I don't think casual gamers who just bought the wii to try to get fit are the ones making the trek to E3. Nintendo needs to understand that until they stop stabbing their fans in the back, their word isn't good for a lot, so just saying that it was a "misunderstanding" without giving a reason why it was just that doesn't really cut it.

E3 is invitation only;  only the high industry mucky-mucks and select reporters were allowed in.  This could have allowed Shigeru Miyamoto to cover up details regarding some stuff he has in the works.

They should at least have teased us with a short trailer or something, even if those were games already standing on the booths

EDIT: Well at least i am glad they recognize it, Reggie has a big head almost al the time thinking everything he does is "hip" and "cool"

The thing is... They did something with Wii                                      that no other console has been able to do.                                      Bring in the mainstream in droves. Now that's                                      making more money than they ever did with                                      just us. So we've just stopped being a priority.

They don't care.
