The effects are awful, the dialogues are cheesy and shallow and acting is annoying...
But I cant stop watching it. The british has really concucted something pretty good.

TremcladClock

Have you ever watched the real Dr. Who?

There was a real one?

Well, I can only assume you're referring to the new series and not the one that started in the 1960s.

Professor Lord Remmington

thats becuase the ealry series was made for very serious, seriously serious geek types. the new one is made for children, hence the cartoon version, the childrens comic book, the childrens insider book, and the behind the scenes documentry on childrens tv.

GearBoxClock

At least the new one looks better.

Curse of the Fatal Death Anyone?

Because drama, originality, composition and performance can justifiably be traded up for fancy CGI special effects, right?

Good point. I just meant that one of the good points of the new one is the CGI and redesigns.

peyoteclock

I recently just started watching this show and I actually find it to be great. David Tennant's performance is wonderful. He brings a lot to the character.

RobClock

So far series 6 hasn't been fantastic, but i really enjoyed series 5 with Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor.

I started watching this about a week or two ago and I'm still upset that Christopher Eccleston is gone. There was something much more charming, imo, about his acting than David Tennant's kid-in-a-man's-body. I just finished season 2 and Tennant has started giving The Doctor a little more depth than he had been at the start of the season, so I can bear it a little more + I'm getting used to him.

Still pretty much looking forward to the 11th Doctor, though.

I liked Eccleston too and thought he should have had some more time as the doctor. Once you get to the middle of season 3 though, Tennant's range of emotion is ridiculous. That's what got me to really start liking him a lot. I don't know if Eccleston could have pulled it off as well as Tennant did.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how good of an actor Eccleston is, having seen him only in this, but I know it would've been great to have him on for a little longer. Anyway, he's gone and there's no use being upset because he isn't coming back.

Tennant just started with the emotions in like the last 5 minutes of season 2. I'd like to see what he can dish out in s3.

So I just started season 5 today and I have to say that I'm not so sure I like Matt Smith. He doesn't seem to be as good of a performer as Tennant. Then again, I'm only on the sixth episode so I'll give him some more time.

HOWEVER

I love me some Karen Gillan.

buttplug

I'm still stuck on Tennant and dare not watch the newer seasons.
